How to use Sign PDF

  1. Drop one PDF file on the page or click to choose it.
  2. Create a signature: Draw it, Type your name, or use an Image of your signature, then click Use this signature.
  3. Click on a page to place it; drag to move it and use the corner to resize. Add today’s date the same way if needed.
  4. Click Save signed PDF to download the signed file.

Supported formats

Input: one PDF file, plus an optional photo or scan of your signature (common image formats such as PNG or JPG). Output: the signed PDF, named name.signed.pdf.

Limits

This adds a picture of your signature, not a certificate-based digital signature, so it does not prove who signed. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first, and any existing digital signatures are no longer valid in the new copy.

Privacy

Everything runs in your browser: your files are never uploaded to a server, and there is no sign-up.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a legally valid electronic signature?

It places an image of your signature on the page, like signing a printout. It is not a digital signature with a certificate, so check that the recipient accepts this kind of signature.

Can I use a photo of my handwritten signature?

Yes. Choose Image, pick a photo or scan, and keep “Make white background transparent” on so only the ink is placed on the page.

Can I sign several pages or add more than one signature?

Yes. You can create several signatures and a date stamp, and place them as many times as you like on any page before saving.

Is my signature stored anywhere?

No. Your signatures and the PDF stay in your browser only while the page is open; nothing is uploaded or saved.
